Which PIP Activities Does Parkinson's Affect?
Preparing food
- Descriptor 1c: Cannot cook a simple meal using a conventional cooker but can using a microwave — 2 points (e.g. photophobia prevents use of hob, tremor makes knife unsafe)
Taking nutrition
- Descriptor 2f: Cannot convey food and drink to their mouth and needs another person to do so — 10 points (e.g. paralysis, severe tremor)
Moving around
- Descriptor 12e: Can stand and move more than 1 metre but no more than 20 metres unaided — 10 points (e.g. severe weakness, balance issues)
